Rickey Don Phillips, 57, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020.
Mr. Phillips was born Aug. 10, 1961, in Detroit, Mich. and relocated with his family to Camden in Wilcox County, Ala., where he was baptized at Gravel Creek, at an early age. He later moved to Atmore and worked as a construction worker for many years. He returned to Detroit, where he continued to work in construction.
The funeral was at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at Holy Community Center in Atmore with Elder Irma Jean Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Rosa Lee Phillips; one daughter, Airmis Phillips; his mother, Climmie Edwards of New York; three brothers, Charles Phillips and Clyde Edwards of New York and Christopher Edwards of Georgia; four sisters, Carolyn (Charles) Scott and Barbara Finklea, both of Florida, Cydell (Auddie) Simmons and Constance (Clarence) Edwards, both of New York; and numerous nephews, nieces and other extended family members.
Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Phillips, Cleveland Finklea and Tommy Finklea, all of Atmore; and two grandparents, Ben and Lizzie Jane Phillips.
