Town Hall kept as voting place

When Flomaton voters go to the polls Aug. 25 to elect a mayor and five council members, all ballots will be cast at town hall.

The Flomaton Town Council made the decision Monday to have one polling place for the municipal election, saying it would cut costs.

Councilwoman Lillian Dean said she would go along with the one voting place as long as each council district has a representative as a poll worker.

Qualifying for the elections will be held from July 7 through July 21. The council voted to keep the qualifying fee the same at $25 for the council and $50 for the mayor.

The council also voted to leave the salaries the same with the mayor receiving $400 per month and the council members receiving $200 per month.
