Helen Stacey Houck Courtney, 86, of Atmore, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, in Atmore.
Mrs. Courtney was born Feb. 16, 1933, to J.D. Curtis and Nettie Louise Smith Stacey in Canoe, Ala. Of the Baptist faith, she worked as a certified nursing assistant for most of her life.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Bratt-Godwin Cemetery with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Courtney is survived by one son, Larry (Betty) Houck of Atmore; one daughter, Martha Floyd of Atmore; four brothers, Elvin (Carolyn) Stacey of Pensacola, Ronald (Lola) Stacey of North Carolina and John Stacey and Doyle (Bonnie) Stacey, both of Houston; two sisters, vivan Faye havers of Houston and Linda Stacey of Georgia; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Courtney was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Houck; her parents; and three siblings, Curtis Stacey, Eloise Ellis and Maedell Bartley.
