Levon McKinley, 75, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020.
Mr. McKinley was born Nov. 15, 1944, to James Thomas, Sr. and Bessie Mae Browning McKinley in Atmore, Ala. After graduating from Escambia County High School in 1963, he attempted to join the military, but instead married and moved to Gulfport, Miss. In 1964. He worked as a truck driver, traveling all over the U.S.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Atmore. Burial followed with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. McKinley is survived by one son, Jimmy McKinley; one daughter, Misty Reyes; one sister, Margie Wasson; two grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces cousins and other family members and friends.
Mr. McKinley was preceded in death by by his wife, Carol Ann Latimer; his parents; four brothers, Clarence “Bo” McKinley, James “Bud” McKinley, Kenneth McKinley and an infant brother; and three sisters, Pauline, Christine, and Irene.
