Tony Lavaine Martin, 81, of East Brewton, died Thursday, Feb. 6,, 2020, in a Pensacola hospice facility following a brief illness.
Mr. Martin was born July 11, 1939 to Otis and Brown Gandy Martin in Butler County, Ala. and had been a lifelong resident of East Brewton. A member of the Pursue Life Church, he was a member of the W.S. Neal High School Class of 1958 and retired from Scott Paper Company.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Montgomery and Speaker Bernie Raines officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery with Williams Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Martin is survived by one sister, Gloria Kay Dyal of East Brewton; five nephews, Larry Fleming and Adam (Christy) Joyner, both of East Brewton, and Greg (Cindy) Fleming and Mark Joyner, both of Brewton and Jeffery (Tiffany) Joyner of Chumuckla, Fla.; one niece, Tammy (Jon) Pence of East Brewton; and numerous grand nephews, grand nieces, great-grand nephews, great-grand nieces and other family members.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Laura Faye Joyner.
