Schools honor area students

A total of 12,050 students, including several from this area, who were enrolled during the 2019 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0, or all A's.

The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The following local students who made the Dean’s List are, from Atmore: Chelsea N Black, Dy'Qwan Dajoun Lee, Mikayla Alexus Spruill, and Colin O'neal Turberville; from Brewton: Caleb G Beasley, Caleb C Whitworth, Kenneth S Brazile, Elisabeth Joi Cannon and Madison Kate Carpenter, Amelia M Peach, Robert R Smith III, Jacob R Whitworth and Andrew E Williamson; from Flomaton: James E Hart IV and Tripp D Vickery.

Kelli Kirkland of Brewton, Alabama was named to Freed-Hardeman University's Dean's List for the Fall 2019 semester. Kirkland is majoring in studio art.

Kirkland was among more than 600 students named to the fall honors list.

Full-time students who achieve a 3.40 grade point average are named to the Dean's List. To be on the President's List, a student must be full-time and have a 4.0 grade point average.
