Sarah Jane Sawyer, 81, of Robertsdale, Ala., died Thursday, March 5, 2020, in a Pensacola hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Sawyer was born Nov. 11, 1938, in Butler County, Ala., where she lived before relocating to Castleberry, Ala. A graduate of Georgiana High School, she was an LPN and worked for several of the area hospitals and retired from the Monroe County hospital. She attended the Vines and Branches Church.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 8, at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with brandon Thornton officiating. Burial followed at London Cemetery in Castleberry with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Sawyer is survived by one son, Steve (Cindy) Eggers of Owassa, Ala.; three daughters, Sue Jane (Dennis) Schmidt of Mobile, Sherry (Jeff) Bercaw of Robertsdale and Peggy Sue Sawyer of Castleberry; one brother, Johnnie (Susanne) Howard of Atmore; one sister, Kay Raybon of Brewton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
