ALFA suspends cancellations during crisis

“We understand many customers’ jobs have been impacted by efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Alfa Insurance President and CEO Jimmy Parnell. “The health and economic challenges facing our country are unprecedented, and we all must work together to defeat the virus and help our neighbors. We’re grateful for loyal customers and blessed to have the financial strength to help them weather this storm.”

Alfa is offering to temporarily suspend policy cancellations due to non-payment of premium and waive late fees for policyholders in Alabama facing financial strain due to COVID-19.

The extended grace period is available for Alfa automobile, property and life insurance policies.

Hardship requests are being reviewed based on individual circumstances. Customers facing financial difficulty should contact their agent or local service center.

As essential critical infrastructure, Alfa offices remain open and continue to serve customers, by appointment only.

Customers also can make payments, file a claim, access auto ID cards or request policy changes by registering their policies at AlfaInsurance.com, calling 1-800-964-2532 or through the Alfa2Go mobile app.

Parnell said Alfa’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic is based on its core values of faith, family, community and integrity.

“When disaster strikes, Alfa is the first to answer the call,” Parnell said. “While the disruption caused by COVID-19 is not a natural disaster, we realize the devastating impact it’s having on our neighbors and communities. We’re happy to be a part of easing the immediate impact from this pandemic.”

In addition to payment relief, Alfa offers automobile discounts for many who serve their communities, including military, first responders, teachers, farmers and state and federal employees. Contact a local Alfa Insurance office for more information.
