The 22nd Saddle Up Trail Ride for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Frisco City, Ala. has not been cancelled due to the Coronavirus, but it has been postponed to the last weekend in April. The location is 328 Strength Lane.
The ride will begin at 9 a.m., Friday, April 24, with fish plates available for a donation at 6 p.m. from Highway Specialties. At 7 p.m., there will be a band to entertain with live music.
At 9 a.m. sharp, Saturday, April 25, horse riders and wagons will depart and return at 3 p.m. Only coffee will be provided that morning, no breakfast.
At 11 a.m., barbeque plates will be available to the public for a donation. At 2 p.m., a Gospel singing will lead into an auction at 4 p.m. and Night Movers Band will perform at 8 p.m. including a country dance.
Primitive camping will be available for anyone, horse riders or non-horse riders, wishing to spend the night or weekend.
At 7 a.m. Sunday, April 26, breakfast will be served, with a church service beginning at 8:30 a.m. At 10 a.m., horse riders and wagons depart for a ride. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs. Donations can be made of items to the auction, which can be brought to the event or picked up prior. All proceeds will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
No alcoholic beverages will be allowed and anyone who attends this events does so at his own risk. Neither the Strengths nor St. Jude Hospital assumes any liability, legal or otherwise for any accidents that may occur.
In 2019, the events raised more than $66,000 and the goal for this year is $70,000.
