George Winston Foster, Sr., 76, died Monday, March 16, 2020, in Phillipsville, Ala.
Mr. Foster was a native of Atmore who had resided in Phillipsville for the past 34 years. Retired from International Paper Company, he was a member of the hall's Fork Hunting Club.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 19, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Wendell Hadley officiating. Burial followed at Hall's Fork Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Foster is survived by one son, George (Paula) Foster, Jr. of Rabun, Ala.; one brother, Aubrey Foster of Rabun; two sisters, Elsie Mae Brown of Loxley and Maggie Lee Chancey of Bay Minette; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his wife, Sharlene Benton Foster; one daughter, Darlene Foster Stewart; and his parents, George Lee and Maggie Mae Foster.
