Escambia County (Ala.) School Superintendent John Knott said due to the stay-at-home order that was issued by Gov. Kay Ivey, the county school system has suspended its food distribution program at all schools within the county school system.
Food distribution at the schools were scheduled to resume Monday, April 6.
Parents of students attending the Escambia County (Ala.) School System were sent a mass text Friday about the change.
Knott said that food already on hand for the distribution, will be donated to food banks and food pantries that continue to provide meals.
Parents will receive updates as events change.
