Coastal Alabama Community College will honor its scholars with a virtual graduation ceremony ay 7 p.m., on Friday, May 8, a celebration of graduation for its best and brightest students, while maintaining safety measures during the Covid-19 health emergency.
Just like previous years, the graduation will be broadcast via the College’s website, coastalalabama.edu and its social media pages, and all graduating students’ names will be called, and each degree conferred. Coastal Alabama Community College is encouraging all students to tune in live and participate through social media using the hashtag #CoastalGrad2020.
To make the absolute most of the celebration, graduating students are asked to dress up in caps and gowns. Students may purchase a cap and gown set on their own, use one from high school, borrow from a friend, etc., and are encouraged to be creative as possible by decorating their mortarboards and making personalized signs. Coastal Alabama’s social media team will repost photos and video tagged with #CoastalGrad2020 through its social media channels so friends, families and other followers can celebrate right along with 2020 graduates.
So this year’s graduating students still have the opportunity to participate in a live ceremony, all 2020 graduates will be invited and encouraged to return to join in rescheduled Graduation Ceremonies. These dates will be scheduled once the Stay-at-Home Order has been lifted and it is safe to return to campus. Coastal Alabama will also host Graduate Picture Days when it is safe to return to campus.
