Walnut Hill man 'habitual offender'

A Walnut Hill man who had his suspended license and had been classified as a habitual offender since March 2018 was arrested Saturday for driving without a license.

Terrance Travon Redmond, 42, 8901 Dan Hall Road, was traveling north on Highway 97A when deputies responding to a call recognized the vehicle and conducted an in-car computer check of the tag, according to an Escambia County Sheriff's Office report.

The deputy knew Redmond had an outstanding warrant and conducted a traffic stop as he pulled into the driveway of his parents' house on Juniper Street. The vehicle was registered to both Redmond and his wife, but Redmond was driving, the report said.

Redmond was arrested and charged with one county felony driving while license suspended habitual offender when dispatch confirmed his license was suspended with numerous suspensions and he had been classified as a habitual offender since March 5, 2018.

Redmond was issued a uniform traffic citation for knowingly driving while license suspended (habitual).

Redmond was then transferred to the Escambia County Jail where he was given a bond of $2,500. The vehicle was released to his wife, who later arrived on scene at Redmond's parents' house.
