William Orell Hart, 91, of Brewton, died Wednesday, April 15, 2020, in a local nursing facility following a brief illness.
Mr. Hart was born Feb. 14, 1929, to Robert W. and Fannie Harrelson Hart in Florala, Ala. A former resident of Montgomery, he was a long time resident of Brewton and graduate of W.S. Neal High School. A member of both the Brewton First Baptist Church and the Brewton Lions Club, he was a retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant with 28 years of service and retired as a clerk for the Alabama Department of Corrections with 13 years of service.
A graveside service with Military Honors was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 18, at Zion Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ron Headley and Dr. Jimmy Adkisson officiating. Burial followed with Williams Memorial Chapel directing.
Mr. Hart is survived by his wife, Allie Barrow Hart of Brewton; one daughter, Vicki (James) Tashjian of Marathon, Fla.; one grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mr. Hart was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ted Hart, Austin Hart, Verlon Hart and Lucine Hart; and three sisters, (twin) Doynell Hart, Bobbie Lee Odom and Leatha Mae Helms.
