Woman jailed on $1 million bond

Flomaton resident faces multiple cahrges including trafficking in meth distributing drugs

A Flomaton woman was arrested Tuesday on a warrant stemming from a March 11 search warrant and charged with multiple drug charges that included trafficking methamphetamine.

Jessica Danielle Griffis, 35, 151 Pecan Grove Lane, Lot 6, appeared before District Judge Eric Coale Wednesday and was give a $1 million bond.

Griffis is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana I, unlawful possession of marijuana II, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and being in possession of a firearm (.22-caliber pistol) by a person forbidden by law to possess a gun.

A co-defendant in the case, Timothy Wayne Satterwhite, 49, 1207 Hall Creek Road, Atmore, was arrested on March 11 with identical charges. He was also issued a $1 million bond.

Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks stated in March that agents with the Alabama Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force, and officers with the Atmore Police Department, Flomaton Police Department and Escambia County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at Satterwhite's 1207 Hall Creek Road residence.

Agents discovered about 43 grams of meth, 26 grams of of marijuana and prescription drugs that included Xanax and Suboxine inside the residence. Agents also found numerous paraphernalia items used to ingest, package or sell illegal narcotics. Six firearms were also found inside the residence.

Wednesday, Brooks said Griffis was not present at the time the search warrant was executed to search Satterwhite's residence, but based on the prior investigation, a warrant was obtained for her arrest.

Tuesday, Griffis was spotted by Flomaton police at Advance Auto and was taken into custody.

"This was a joint effort from multiple law enforcement agencies," Brooks said. "Information was given to law enforcement of possible illegal drug activity going on at 1207 Hall Creek Road and an investigation began."
