Warrants signed in Flomaton stealing

Creamer admits to stealing utility trailer

Warrants have been signed for the arrest of a Flomaton man for stealing a trailer and Flomaton Police Chief Chance Thompson said an investigation is continuing and other charges may be forthcoming.

Warrants have been signed for the arrest Joseph M. Creamer, 27, with no permanent address listed but according to Chief Thompson he had been living on Cary Street in Flomaton, charging him with theft of property III, criminal mischief III and criminal trespassing.

Chief Thompson said in April a two-axle trailer was reported stolen from Len's Jewelers in Flomaton. During an investigation, Creamer became a person of interest.

Thompson said his investigation led him to Creamer and during an interview after being read his rights, Thompson said Creamer admitted to stealing the trailer.

Thompson said Creamer tried to lie and gave false information on where the trailer was located. Thompson said he learned it had been purchased by an unknowing person in Riverview.

Thompson and a deputy with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office went to the residence in Riverview and the person who purchased the trailer from Creamer allowed the officers to take the trailer, which was returned to Len's Jewelers.

"I'd like to thank people in the community who stepped up and provided the information I needed to get the warrants signed and to get the trailer back to the proper owner," Thompson said.
