R.J. Bush, Jr., 74, of Brewton, died Friday, May 15, 2020, following a brief illness.
Mr. Bush was born Sept. 25, 1945, to R.J., Sr. and Vader Jones Bush in Escambia County, Ala. A lifelong resident, he was a 1963 graduate of Flomaton High School and served in the U. S. National Guard. Of the Baptist faith, he was co-owner and operator of Bush Home Builders for 50 years with his brother, Johnny.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 17, at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Edwards and Rev. David Dykes officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Bush is survived by his wife, Debbie Reid Bush of Brewton; three sons, Michael (Bilie Jo) Bush and David Bush, both of Brewton, and Greg (Jessica) Bush of Flomaton; two brothers, Jimmie (JoAnn) Bush of Flomaton and Johnny Bush of Cantonment, Fla.; four sisters, Linda Jackson of Brewton, Margie (Jack) Valenty of Cantonment, Elaine (Joe Max) Linzy of Jay, Fla. and Lanell (Randall) Parks of Daphne, Ala.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mr. Bush was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Joseph Michael Bush.
