The Board of the Jay Historical Society will meet in early June to discuss the reopening of Jay’s museum in Santa Rosa County.
Plans will be made for the rest of the year and going into 2021. As many of you know, work continues with the county concerning the Fidelis School project.
The Old Homestead project is still a dream in the making, with application for grants to build the small homestead on the JHS’s downtown property.
JHS sells cookbooks, history books and offers annual and lifetime memberships to raise funds.
However, there may be some readers who may know a benefactor that could help JHS raise these much needed funds.
JHS needs $100,000.00 to make this dream come true, with a possible portion of this donated for others to match the amounts.
This has been a vision for many years for the society and there is hope someone can add to their fundraising efforts.
It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when and JHS President Matt Dobson is fully convinced the town’s attraction will benefit many generations to come as JHS seeks ‘To Preserve the Past for the Future’.
