Flomaton restaurant reopens with limited hours; drive-thru only from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Hardee's restaurant in Flomaton has reopened with reduced hours after at least one employee tested positive for COVID-19.
Hardee's was closed last Friday, opened for breakfast Saturday, closed again and was reopened Tuesday, June 23, with hours of operation set from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. with drive-thru only.
Signs posted at the restaurant varied from being closed while waiting on a food shipment to equipment issues. Last Friday Hardee's had a sign posted on the door stating 'Due to the recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) and for the protection of our guests and employees, we will off Drive-Thru Service only Until further Notice. We have implemented enhanced Drive-Thru service procedures to speed up your visits."
Multiple attempts to contact Hardee's corporate office were answered in an email Monday from Candice Jacobson that said the following statement could be attributed to a Hardee's spokesperson:
The independently owned and operated Hardee's location at 21514 Highway 31 Flomaton, AL., will be temporarily closed until Tuesday, June 23, 2020 to allow the restaurants staff to undergo precautionary testing after a member of the staff tested positive for COVID-19. Each will return to work once they receive a negative result. We know this is a challenging time for the community and the safety of our guests and restaurant's employees remains a top priority. In light of this testing, the restaurant hours and staffing have temporarily changed; the restaurant will operate from 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. daily, staffed by employees from nearby restaurants.
The restaurant is currently being disinfected, and has been following state and local laws and mandates, monitoring CDC guidelines and industry best practices, and elevating disinfection procedures.
