Charles Edward “Eddie” Gideons, 56, of Atmore, died Tuesday, June 16, 2020.
Mr. Gideons was born Feb. 21, 1964, to Charles Edward, Sr. and Marilyn Owens Gideons-Davidson in Atmore. Working for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Atmore from 1995 until 2004 when he began working as a forestry technician with “Big Hoop” Matthews. In 2003, he began his passion, learning to fly, mentored by J.W. Wallace of Wallace Flying, Inc.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, at McCullough Christian Center with Hooper Matthews, Blaine Chastang and Bro. Wayne Harris officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove baptist Church Cemetery in Oak Grove, Fla. with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Gideons is survived by his wife, Tammy Smith of Atmore; five children, Charles Edward “Bo” (Christie) Gideons, III, of Waterford, Texas, Levi Trest Gideons and Tanner Gideons, both of Atmore, Heath Smith of Milton, Fla., Holly (Ervin) St. Germain of Pensacola and Ande Marie (Ricky) Smith of Spanish Fort, Ala.; his mother; one brother, Bubb Gideons of Atmore; two sisters, Ondrea Marie Gideons Williamson of Atmore and Monica (Jeff) Gideons Sharp of Carrollton, Ga.; and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Gideons was preceded in death by his father; and four grandparents, T. Onree and B. Marie Owens and Shelby C. and Lydia Gideons.
