Franklin D. “Red” Cotton, 83, of Atmore, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2020.
Mr. Cotton was born July 12, 1937, to J.D. and Ada E. Brown Cotton. Owner and operator of The T & W Flea Market, Red's Swap Shop, Brother's Furniture and Summerdale Flea Market, he moved to Atmore and opened the Atmore Flea Market, Cotton's Furniture Store and Cotton's Mini Storage. He was a member of The First Pentecostal Church of McCullough.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Lolly, Bro. D.L. Harvell and Bro. Alton Lister officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Cotton is survived by his wife of 36 years, Beulah Grissett Cotton; three sons, J.R. (Virgie) Cotton and T.W. Cotton, both of Pensacola, and Matt (Kelley) Cotton of Atmore; one daughter, Ashley Cotton of Atmore; one brother, Gary Cotton of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Virginia Hendry of Louisiana and Barbara Aceto of Pensacola; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren (and two on the way).
Mr. Cotton was preceded in death one daughter, Pat Hutson; his parents; and four siblings, Jack Cotton, Ernest Cotton, Buster Allen Cotton and Morris Cotton.
