Thomas Douglas Adams, 81, of Century, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020.
Mr. Adams was born in Bluff Springs, Fla. and had been a lifelong resident of the Century community. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he worked for 40 years in the paper manufacturing industry in Cantonment, Fla. and attended Poplar Dell Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 7, at Poplar Dell Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch Herring officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with full military honors and Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan Adams of Century; one son, David Adams of Flomaton; two daughters, Alicia (Marty) Chavers of Denver, Colo. and Marialena (Carl) Godwin, Jr., of Century; three sisters, Virginia Jernigan of Bay Minette, Martha (Wayne) DeWitt of Tallahassee, Fla. And Susan (Paul) Tonder of Pensacola; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
Mr Adams was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Adams and Mary Jane Walker Adams DeWitt; and one brother, George Melvin Adams.
