Limited tickets will be available at the gate; 550 remain for fans
Although Flomaton High School's football schedule keeps changing, the Hurricanes will open this Friday night at Ariton High School. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
FHS Principal Scott Hammond said Ariton has made 750 tickets available for the game. The first 200 tickets will go to the parents of the Ariton players, band and cheerleaders.
The remaining 550 tickets will be available at the gate. He also said there would be no advance ticket sales.
Flomaton was originally scheduled to open the season Aug. 21 by hosting Choctaw County, but the school has opted out of playing football this fall due to COVID-19.
Flomaton's Aug. 28 game against Northview and Sept. 4 game against Jay were also taken off the schedule when Florida moved its football season back.
Flomaton head Coach Doug Vickery had scheduled to host Pleasant Home this Friday, but Pleasant Home backed out of the game.
That slot was filled by Ariton. Flomaton will travel to Maplesville on Sept. 4 and host Cottage Hill on Sept. 18. The current schedule calls for Flomaton to travel to Jay on Sept. 25, go to Bayside Oct. 2, host Excel Oct. 9 for homecoming, host Hillcrest on Oct. 16, host T.R. Miller on Oct. 23 and host Escambia County High School on Oct. 30.
Friday night's game will be broadcast live on WPFL Radio, 105.1.
