Chris Wayne Hawkins, 64, of Christian Home, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 17, 2020 in Pensacola.
Mr. Hawkins was born Dec. 25, 1955, to D. Wayne and Norma James Hawkins, in Shawnee, Okla. A U.S. Navy vetern with four years active duty served on the USS Lexington, he had been in the ministry for more than 40 years, pastoring many churches since 1980. For the past 11 years, he had been the pastor of Byrneville United Methodist Church while employed as a registered nurse with Santa Rosa Medical Center.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug, 22, at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Vaughn officiating. Burial followed at The Vaughn Family Cemetery with Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife, Connie Vaughn Hawkins of the Christian Home community; two sons, Chris W. (Jaime) hawkins, Jr. of Davisville, Fla. and David A. (Savannah) Hawkins of Verbena, Ala.; one brother, Ted (Laura) Hawkins; one sister, Vivan Love of Oklahoma; and six grandchildren.
Mr Hawkins was preceded in death by his parents.
