Michael David Johnson, 74 of Jay, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020, in a Pensacola healthcare facility.
Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 31, 1946, to Perry and Bertha Jackson Johnson, in Century and became a lifetime member of the Jay community. Of the Assembly of God faith, he was a retired plane captain with NAS Whiting Field and served as a firefighter with Jay Volunteer Fire Department.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 28, at Flomaton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Cemetery Chapel in Jay with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 42 years, Darlene Johnson of Jay; one son, Russell (Heather) Johnson of Milton, Fla.; one daughter, Melissa (Richard) Hamilton of Jay; three grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harvey Johnson and Melvin Johnson
