Told the judge that he has learned his lesson
A Repton man all but admitted his guilt at a July 23 bond hearing before Escambia County (Ala.) District Judge Eric Coale when he told the judge "I learned my lesson from this. I'm actually seeking mental health for my problem"
Raymond Pellegrini II, 31, 2469 Jerkins Road, Repton, was charged with two counts of enticing a child to enter a vehicle for immoral purposes and three counts of stalking II.
Events leading up to Pellegrini's arrest began on July 7 when three females, including two 14-year old girls were heading to Wind Creek Casino and Motel to go to the movies.
The girls went to McDonald's and later told officers Pellegrini followed them from McDonald's to the parking lot at Wind Creek, outside the theater.
According to District Attorney Steve Billy, the three girls said a man in a red SUV, later identified as Pellegrini, circled their vehicle multiple times once they parked at Wind Creek. He said the adult female pulled out a can of pepper spray to show Pellegrini, but he continued to circle their vehicle.
Billy said the girls moved their vehicle three times, but Pellegrini continued to circle them and drive by their car.
The girls inside the vehicle called a friend who was already inside and as the three girls approached the theater, Pellegrini blocked their way and began yelling at the friend they had called.
Billy said the girls told police Pellegrini asked them if they wanted to get inside his vehicle.
Billy also said Pellegrini took the red SUV he was driving to the scrap yard the next day.
Court records state Pellegrini is charged with proposing the children to perform an act of sexual intercourse. The records also claim Pellegrini followed the girls in his vehicle from McDonald's, circled around their vehicle at the Wind Creek parking lot and asked them to get into his car.
During the bond hearing, Pellegrini told Judge Coale he really didn't know what he was charged with. Judge Coale read the charges and informed Pellegrini that he had the right to remain silent and anything he said could be used against him. Coale also told him the hearing was to set a bond and not to discuss the case.
Billy told the judge that there were three victims and possibly a fourth and noted that Pellegrini disposed of evidence when he scrapped his vehicle.
"I'm charged with what I done," Pellegrini told the judge. "I hope you will show a little leniency. My mama will have to pay."
Pellegrini then told the judge he had learned his lesson and was seeking mental health support for his problem.
Billy told the judge that the two enticing a minor charges were Class C felonies and the three stalking charges were misdemeanors and requested a bond of no less than $250,000 and if Pellegrini was released from jail he was to have no contact with minors.
Judge Coale set his bond at $250,000 with stipulations Pellegrini have not contact with the victims, no contact with anyone under the age of 18 and not to be allowed on the property as Wind Creek.
