Perdue Hill woman is jailed for DUI, assault

A Perdue Hill woman was jailed on $250,000 on charges of driving under the influence and assault I after hitting another vehicle head-on on Interstate 65 while driving the wrong way on the interstate.

Earleen Williams McCall, 57, 47 Taylor Circle, was charged by state troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency following the Sept. 26 crash.

Reports note that McCall was traveling south in the northbound lane of I-65, near the 58 mile marker in Escambia County, at 9:05 p.m. when the crash occurred. McCall was not seriously injured.

Reports note that McCall was under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred. It also noted the driver of the other vehicle was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola and that her arm will be amputated along with her broken leg.

An update on the victim's condition was not available at press time.

McCall was booked into the Escambia County Jail in Brewton. During a bond hearing on Sept. 27, District Judge Eric Coale set her bond at $250,000. She was issued a court date of Dec. 6, 2021.
