Man facing new sex charges

Brewton man already in jail now faces new charges of sexually abusing a 9-year old child

A Brewton man who was arrested in March, 2021 for sexually abusing an 11-year old victim is now facing sexual abuse charges against a second male victim, age 9.

Tristan Dakota Sinclair, 19, with addresses listed on Appleton Road, McGougin Road and in Tennessee, was arrested last week and charged with two counts of sodomy I and two counts of sexual abuse of a child. Sinclair has remained in jail since his March, 2021, arrest on charges of sodomy I, sexual abuse of a child less than 12 and enticing a child for immoral purposes.

In March, District Judge Eric Coale set Sinclair's bond at $300,000. During that bond hearing District Attorney Steve Billy told Judge Coale there was a prior incident involving Sinclair that was being investigated by the Escambia County Department of Human Resources. The new charges were filed last week while Sinclair remained in the Escambia County Detention Center following his March, 2021 arrest.

According to court records the new charges stem from an encounter that occurred on or about June 1, 2020, where Sinclair is accused of engaging in deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion against the child who is now 9-years old. The child would have been 8 at the time of the alleged abuse.

During last week's bond hearing Judge Coale set Sinclair's bond at $250,00 with stipulations that if he is released he is to have no contact with the victim or any child under the age of 18.
