$250,000 awarded in grant

Flomaton to use the funds for road work

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey announced that the town of Flomaton has been awarded a $250,000 grant for resurfacing and draining improvements on four roads.

The grant funds are coming from the Rebuild Alabama Act the Legislature established after raising the gasoline tax in Alabama. The Legislature has earmarked $10 million from the state’s allocation to help fund local road projects across the state. Gov. Ivey announced last week that more than $3.6 million in Rebuild Alabama Act funds were granted to cities and counties across the state.
