T.R. Miller student killed in auto crash

Stanley was passenger in truck driven by other student

A T.R. Miller High School junior was killed and another Miller student was injured in a single-vehicle crash last Wednesday on County Road 69 in the Damascus community.

Quentera 'A.J.' Stanley, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 9:15 p.m. crash. A 17-year old T.R. Miller student, who was driving the vehicle, was injured. The name of the juvenile driver was not released.

According to reports released by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the 17-year old driver's 2004 Ford F-150 left the roadway and struck several trees.

ALEA state troopers noted that neither Stanley nor the driver were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and both were ejected from the vehicle.

The 17-year old was transported to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital in Brewton. An update on his condition was not available at press time.

ALEA's highway patrol division is continuing its investigation into the crash.

As of press time Wednesday, details of funeral arrangements for Stanley were not available.
