Woman flees from cops in Bay Minette; caught in Flomaton

An Atmore woman was booked into the Baldwin County Jail late Friday afternoon following a car chase that began in Bay Minette and ended near the Alabama Coffee House in Flomaton.

Stacey Renea Castrejana, 45, 200 Wilson Ave., who also had an address listed in Pensacola, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief II, attempting to elude, reckless driving, running a red light, improper lane change and resisting arrest.

Bay Minette police placed Castrejana in handcuffs and transported her back to the Baldwin County Jail.

Bay Minette Police Sgt. Marcus Sledge said officers were dispatched to a residence in reference to someone causing damage to property. When officers arrived, Castrejana fled and officers started a pursuit on Highway 31.

Atmore police engaged in the pursuit but called it off with Bay Minette police still in pursuit.

Flomaton Police Chief Dane NeSmith said Bay Minette police called ahead and gave a description of the vehicle.

Flomaton Police Officer Lenny Carnley spread a spike strip across Highway 31 near the Tri-City Ledger that flattened the tires on Castrejana's vehicle. She continued until stopped at the American Coffee House.
