Century teen jailed for attempted murder

Scott faces multiple charges after being accused of shooting into crowd Oct. 6 in Atmore

A Century man was jailed on $300,000 bond on two counts of attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied building and three counts of shooting into an unoccupied vehicle.

Travis Lavar Scott, 18, 8101 North Century Boulevard, was arrested Oct. 12, and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center.

According to reports released by the Atmore Police Department, officers were dispatched to Atmore Community Hospital on Oct. 6 in reference to a victim suffering a gunshot wound to one of their feet. Police said while speaking to the victim, a second victim arrived at the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to one of their hands.

After interviewing both victims the officers responded to the 100 block of Patterson Street, where the shootings had occurred. Officers reported contacting several witnesses. Witnesses told officers Scott drove up to a group of people at the location and exited a vehicle and began shooting. Witnesses said Scott fled the area in a vehicle.

Police state Scott was arrested Monday while inside a local restaurant and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.

Court records state Scott drove the vehicle in which the back passenger got out and shot multiple times into a crowd, striking the two victims, an occupied apartment, a 2010 white Ford Expedition, a silver/gray Dodge Charger and a black Chevrolet Blazer.
