Phi Delta Kappa adding to its youth group

The Gamma Theta Chapter of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated, inducted 13 new members into the youth group's Brewton chapter.

Six young ladies were inducted into the Xinos Club and seven young men were inducted into the Kudos Club. The Xino and Kudo Clubs are guidance groups for youth in grades 9 through 12, that work alongside with the sorority to help with community service and other guidance programs.

New members who were inducted are Zah'Ri Smith, Zyon Drakeford, Peyton Golden, Tia Guster, Makinnley Hall, and Tyra Lindsey, Brayden Bakare, Calvin Gaines, Donovan Hall, Jasean Jones, Daivon Polite, Pierce Taylor, and Reginald Smith.

The entire chapter, including the new inductees, then shared some Christmas cheer this holiday. The group's holiday sleigh made its first visit to Volunteers of America Adult group home, delivering special baskets to the clients who live there. The group sang Christmas carols, prepared baskets for each client, and served the clients dinner.

A second holiday project was collecting can goods for Drexell & Honeybees Donation Only Restaurant, which is located in Brewton, Ala. People travel to this restaurant from different states just to taste the delicious food and experience some down home southern hospitality.

Guests have the option to pay to eat at this restaurant, and donations are always welcome.
