Jordan's Way in Brewton Saturday

Paws Crossed to host rescue event

Representatives with Jordan's Way, a national non-profit animal rescue organization, will be in Brewton from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, as part of its 300 Shelter Tour across the nation to help raise money and awareness to the need of finding dogs new homes.

The event, which will be carried live on Facebook, will be held at the Brewton Paws Crossed Animal Rescue shelter, located at 27330 U.S. Highway 31 – the big blue building next to to the scrap yard.

Jordan's Way was named after a dog named Jordan that was rescued from a shelter, and works to inspire people to adopt animals with the goal of clearing shelters.

If the Brewton Paws Crossed raises $10,000, a board member will spend the night at the shelter.

"We're mainly asking people to come and show support," said Renee Johnson with Paws Crossed.

Donations can be made the day of the event and can also be made through Paws Crossed and Jordan's Way Facebook links.
