Kampakis coming to T.R. Miller for event

The Escambia County Habitat for Humanity will be hosting a community event March 21 at T.R. Miller High School in Brewton with author and speaker Kari Kampakis presenting 'Love Her Well'.

Kampakis is an author, podcaster and national speaker from Birmingham and her books for moms and teen girls have been used across the country for small group studies.

The event will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with an 'eat and mingle' and light dinner in the cafeteria.

From 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. there will be a group talk 'You are seen, You are Loved, Your life Matters'' and what it means to live for God's approval, but not human approval and letting your faith be reflected in how you live. The session touches on anxiety, social media, friendship, kindness and owning your own faith.

From 7 p.m. to7:45 p.m. there will be a ladies talk 'Love Her Well: How to love a Teenager' based on the book 'Love Her Well'. It's a look at how to find the balance between parenting your teen and loving your teen, and letting your relationship with your teen grow up as they grow up.

Tickets are $20 per person and no tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets can be purchased by visiting http://www.eventbrite.com/e/an-evening-with-kari-kampakis-tickets-839355072617.
