Wardrop named school system's CSFO

County school board splits vote on new hire; Mike Edwards cast a 'no confidence' vote

On a 4-2-1 vote Thursday afternoon, the Escambia County (Ala.) School Board voted to hire Kristal Wardrop as the system's new chief school financial officer (CSFO) to replace Rochelle Richardson, who previously resigned that position.

The school board had contracted with the Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB) to conduct the search for a new CSFO and sent the board two names to interview: Waldrop and Charles Bass of Deatsville, Ala. The two were interviewed last Monday in Flomaton.
