Search warrant in Century reveals drugs

A Flomaton woman, whose temporary residence was the subject of a search warrant, executed in Century, faces a felony drug charge when law enforcement discovered drugs and a weapon with an altered serial number inside the residence.

Amy Nicole Lewis, 45, 230 Wade Lane, was served a search warrant at the residence of 9206 Academy St. in Century on Friday, May 3, where Lewis was detained upon exit, according to an Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office report.

As an officer read the warrant to Lewis and a witness who was located sleeping in a room at the residence, a probable cause search was being conducted.

According to the report, the following items were discovered in different rooms: a glass jar containing marijuana; a High Standard, Inc. .22 caliber 'Deringer'style pistol with the serial number scratched off was found inside a pink purse; peach-colored pills imprinted with 'K40' contained in a bag inside a kitchen cabinet; a digital scale, which tested positive for methamphetamine on the kitchen stove top; two digital scales from the kitchen stove top; a notebook, containing phone numbers, on the kitchen stove top; marijuana in a baggie, inside a top dresser drawer; hidden compartment can, which contained 13 gram baggie of meth, 1.5 grams baggie of meth and 19 blue pills imprinted with V2531, which was located in a kitchen cabinet; hidden compartment can containing miscellaneous jewelry, located in a kitchen cabinet; a blue Motorola smart phone; and some white powder substance, which field tested positive for meth, on the floor beside a bedside table.

When officers spoke with Lewis, she denied knowledge of any narcotics sales happening at her residence.

The report said Lewis said the only narcotics she was aware of was a quantity of marijuana located in her bedroom. She told the officers she had been staying at the residence only a few months, taking care of it while Darrin Green was in prison.

The report said Lewis said she was unaware of any narcotics sales taking place at the residence and denied selling any narcotics.

Witness Tristan McCreary told the officers he did not live at the residence but stayed there occasionally because the commute was shorter for him. McCreary said he was unaware of any narcotics transactions and that he had limited knowledge of who came and went because he stayed there so infrequently. He said he did use marijuana and had a small amount ion his bedroom, which he used recreationally.

Lewis was arrested May 22 and charged with misdemeanor possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, felony possession of meth and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. She was given a $7,000 bond.
