Flomaton man shot and killed

DeFuniak Springs man being held without bond in Sunday's shooting death in Flomaton

A Flomaton man is dead and a DeFuniac Springs man is being held without bond on murder charges following a Sunday night shooting at 20411 Highway 31 in Flomaton.

Bradford C. Eusea, 67, is charged with killing Tanner Coleman, 26, by shooting Coleman in the chest with a .357 magnum pistol.

According to Flomaton Police Chief Dereck Lowry, the Escambia County (Ala.) Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about 6:30 p.m. June 23 in reference to a person being shot and the shooter still on the scene. Lowry said the call was relayed to Flomaton dispatch and an officer went to the scene and EMS was dispatched.

Lowry said when the officer arrived, Eusea exited the house with his hands in the air and was taken into custody without incident.

He said the officer then went inside the residence and began administering first aid to Coleman until the ambulance arrived. Lowry said Coleman apparently died en route to the hospital.

Lowry said Coleman's wife and Eusea's fiancee were interviewed and noted the shooting occurred during a domestic dispute.

Eusea was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center on the murder charge. He appeared before District Judge Eric Coale Tuesday for a bond hearing. Judge Coale left the no-bond in place and ordered an Aniah's Law hearing for 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) to see if Eusea is entitled to a bond.
