Child porn leads to jail, bond

Atmore man is arrested buy ABI for nude 'prepubescent' photos of underage females

An investigation by Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's State Bureau of Investigation led to the arrest of an Atmore man on five counts of possession of pornography with intent to distribute after officers found photographs of nude and semi-nude juvenile females on his computer.

Micah Matthew Mobley, 27, 51 Wooten Road, Apartment 203, was arrested by ABI agents with court records stating the photographs were found on July 17.

Court records note the investigation revealed Mobley had a JPEG file uploaded to a dropbox account that showed photos of a "prepubescent female". Court records also state one photograph showed two prepubescent females with their breasts and pubic area exposed.

Mobley was arrested and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.

During a bond hearing this past Friday before District Judge Eric Coale, Mobley said he had no job and no income and requested an attorney be appointed. Judge Coale approved and appointed the public defender's office to represent Mobley.

Judge Coale set Mobley's bond at $300,000 with the condition that if he gets out of jail he is to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18, no use of any electronic devices and posses no guns or deadly devices.

District Attorney Steve Billy said Mobley is facing five Class B felonies. If convicted he faces a possible prison sentence of two to 20 years on each count and would be required to register as a sex offender.

Attempts to contact ALEA on what led to the investigation of Mobley's computer were unsuccessful.
