Four felony charges on ilegal man

An Atmore man is facing multiple charges that include felony charges of burglary I, robbery I, unlawful imprisonment and domestic violence I stemming from an Aug. 23 incident.

According to Atmore police, officers were dispatched to the emergency room at Atmore Community Hospital’s emergency room in reference to a domestic violence incident.

Police identified Juan Estaban Garcia-Galvin, 41, 203 Sowell Ave., as the suspect, noting the suspect has common children with the victim and they live in separate residences.

Police reported that the investigation determined Galvin broke into the victim’s residence about 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 23 while armed with a knife. Officers later initiated a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle, which was being driven by Galvin.

Galvin was arrested and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.

In his initial bond hearing, District Judge Eric Coale set no bond. Galvin, who has stated he’s an illegal immigrant, is scheduled for another bond hearing today (Thursday, Aug. 28).
