Flomaton is seeking info to find suspect

Moody wanted on multiple felonies

The Flomaton Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating 38-year old Christopher Moody who is wanted on multiple felony warrants after being accused of attacking a woman Tuesday afternoon on Railroad Street near the railroad trestle.

Police described Moody as being homeless but say had been in the area for several days. Flomaton police said they made contact with Moody in Florida on Monday on a shoplifting complaint from the Circle K in Flomaton but there was not enough evidence to take him into custody.

Police said the female victim had stopped her vehicle on the side of the road at Railroad Street and Moody attacked her. The victim dialed 911 and when police arrived she told them the suspect snatched her out of the car, held her against her will and choked her.

The victim identified Moody as the suspect by looking at photographs.

The K-9 tracking team from the Alabama Department of Corrections was called to the scene but lost the trail when it appeared Moody entered Big Escambia Creek and headed toward Florida.

Police said Moody had been seen in the area riding a black mountain-style bicycle in the days prior.

Flomaton has active warrants for Moody's arrest charging him with robbery, attempted carjacking, kidnapping and assault.

Anyone with information on Moody's whereabouts is asked to call the Flomaton Police Department at 251-296-5811 or their nearest law enforcement agency.
