Moore to stay in Flomaton as town clerk

Changes mind on Century job

A week after accepting the job as the town of Century’s clerk, Carrie Moore rescinded that decision and will remain the town clerk for the town of Flomaton.

At its Sept. 17 meeting the Century Town Council voted unanimously to hire Moore as the clerk to fill the position left vacant when Leslie Howington resigned in April.

However, this week Moore had a change of heart and has decided to stay in Flomaton.

“After further consideration, I’ve decided to stay in Flomaton,” Moore said. “I appreciate the opportunity given me from the town of Century, but I made this decision for what’s best for me and my family. I’m looking forward to continuing working for the town of Flomaton.

Moore contacted Flomaton Mayor Jim Johnson and Century Mayor Louis Gomez Tuesday about her decision.

Mayor Johnson said he was glad Moore changed her mind.

“I’m excited for us for her to stay,” Johnson said. “We are trying to move forward on some things and I’m looking forward to continue working with her.”

“We can work great together and work together to move Flomaton forward,” Johnson said.
