Bradford, wanted for Jackson's murder in Brewton, arrested by Mobile police after chase
A second suspect has been arrested and charged with murder for the Aug. 17 shooting death of Brewton resident Aubrey McAllister 'Mackie' Jackson, 35.
According to reports, Anthony Bradford, Jr., of Mobile was arrested Tuesday in Mobile following a car chase that ended with Bradford attempting to flee after crashing his car. The Mobile Police Department charged Bradford with a felony count of attempting to elude and possession of drugs. Once identified, Mobile police realized Bradford was wanted for murder in Escambia County.
Reports state that Mobile police attempted to make a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon near Pinetucky and Moffett roads and the driver, later identified as Bradford, refused to stop and later crashed into a parked car on Kings Branch Road North.
Mobile police said Bradford exited the vehicle and attempted to run but was quickly captured by police.
Bradford was scheduled to appear for a bond hearing in Mobile yesterday. District Attorney Steve Billy said motions will be filed to have Bradford extradited to Escambia County to face the murder charge.
Tyrek A. Ball, 17, also of Mobile, was arrested in September and charged in Jackson's murder.
Ball is currently being held in the Escambia County Detention Center without bond.
Escambia County (Ala.) deputies were originally dispatched to the Appleton community in reference to a body lying of the side of the road. Deputies identified the victim as Jackson, noting Jackson had been shot to death.
Ball and Bradford were identified as suspects in the murder. Ball was arrested Sept. 5 by U.S. Marshals and extradited back to Escambia County. At the time of Jackson's death Ball was on probation for robbery I.
