Halloween and Fall festivals set for area
With the fall season and Hallowen just around the corner, area activities start Friday, Oct. 25 with trick or treats in Atmore and Century and continue through Nov. 8 with Byrneville’s Fall Festival. There is plenty for families to enjoy that will get everyone in the mood for fall.
Atmore
The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce will host 'Trick-or-Treat On the Street' from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, in Atmore.
Williams Station Day will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, in Atmore. Entertainment, car show, arts & crafts exhibits, heritage displays, commercial vendors, food, train rides, children's area and much more.
St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, located at 600 S. Main St. in Atmore, will hold its Annual Fall Festival and BBQ from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.,
Saturday Nov. 2. There will be for sale smoked Boston butts, BBQ sandwiches, and home-baked goods. Limited number of smoked Boston butts so to preorder phone, (251) 253 - 5484. For orders the days of the festival, call (251) 368 – 3615.
St. Anna's Episcopal Church will have its Trunk or Treat from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, at 100 Lynn McGhee Dr. in Atmore. Come dressed in Halloween costumes and enjoy the Disney-themed Trunk or Treat.
There will be a Haunted House open from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, October 25 and Saturday, Oct 26, at 23455 Redrawn Rd. in Atmore. Admission is $5 per person. Haunted bait shop with haunted cemetery full of zombies. Sponsored by JB's Baitshop. Visit on Facebook.
Brewton
The Brewton Witches Ride will take flight from the parking lot of the YMCA at 3 p.m., this Saturday, Oct. 26, and end at the Market Park in downtown Brewton. Check-in is at 1:45 p.m. As soon as the Witches Ride ends, Brewton Reborn will host the Cold Moon Festival from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, in conjunction with the Escambia County (Ala.) Habitat for Humanity Fall Festival, at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26 at Market Park, located at 205 Belleville Ave. in downtown Brewton. Will Kimbrough, Grayson Capps and Corky Hughes and friends will play on stage. There will be trunk or treat activities, a costume contest, pie in the face, a cake walk and much more in the park. There will also be lots of games, food and prizes. Admission is free. All proceeds from the Brewton Witches Ride will go to support Hadyn Brake in need of a kidney transpant. Byrneville
Byrneville Elementary School will hold its annual Fall Festival from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, at the school. There will be games, bull riding, corn hole, a cake walk, a pirate ship. rock climbing, slides, hay rides, a bake sale, a haunted house, face painting, auction, music and more.
There will be a free gospel concert by the gospel group ‘Heart of Praise’ from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, at The Loft at Driskell’s located at 1801 County Rd. 4 in Byrneville, Fla. Free admission, everyone welcome.
Century
The Century Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the 5th annual Trunk or Treat from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, at Pensacola State College Century Campus. Sponsors are being sought. Oak Grove Baptist Church will hold its Fall Festival from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at 2600 N. Hwy 99 in Century. There will be food, games, a hayride, bingo for cakes, a bounce house, a kids train ride, a hot air balloon, door prizes and more.
Excel
The ‘Excel Haunted Pathway: Horror Stories’ will be open from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, at 499 Main St. in Excel. Tickets are adults $10; kids $7; and an Xtra Scare ticket is $15. Scary props, more changes for this year.
Flomaton
Flomaton will hold its Safe Night of Fun from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, in downtown Flomaton. Join in for a night of fun, games and candy with the downtown businesses that will be open and giving out candy. The Flomaton HighSchool band boosters will have food plates for sale and the Flomaton Public Library and Flomaton Town Hall will offer games including a dunking booth. It’s a safe night out for the family.
Beacon of Strength Breast Cancer Foundation will host a 'Paint the Town Pink' Run/Walk starting at 8 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at Dewey J. Bondurant, Jr. Park. The town of Jay will hold its Trick or Treat on Commerce Street at 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31. Candy booths open at 5 p.m., Kids Costume Contest at 6:30 p.m. Organizations or youth groups interested in hosting a booth, reserve a spot by calling 850-675-4556.
McDavid
There will be a Halloween Kids Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at 5582 Highway 164 in McDavid. Free to enter. There will be a Pumpkin Patch, vendors, pony rides, petting zoo, kids train ride and more. $20 includes tickets for kid activities and pumpkin.
Monroeville
The city of Monroeville Witches Ride will take flight from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, in downtown Monroeville. Registration is now; witches will ride from the VF Lot to downtown dressed as witches. There will be prizes awarded.
Pollard
The 53rd Annual Hugh White Fall Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at Pollard-McCall Junior High, located at 3975 Old Hwy 31. There will be games, vendors, a car show, live entertainment, the famous cake auction and more.
Walnut Hill
The Walnut Hill Baptist Church Fall Festival will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, October 27, at 5741 Arthur Brown Road. There will be a costume contest, fun games, a trunk or treat, snow cones, a cake walk, a chili cookout and more.
